Self Portrait series
So the other day I posted a picture of me holding my own head in my arms. It got me thinking about a self portrait series. I've never run across something like this and will be posting them here from time to time. This is the second one and I call it "The Hand that Feeds"

Self Portrait
So I've been applying to various jobs around the world throughout my life. I am a pretty big fan of blind interviews. Meaning you take the best person for the job without seeing them. that way you are only judged by what you can offer to the company.
Well, today I got a response from one company saying I was perfect for them, but they couldn't make a decision without seeing a photo first. I know I'm not the prettiest person, but this was my response...

Trying new things!
I spend a fair amount of time looking online at photos for new kinds of inspiration. I've come across a few times photographs of people's eyes at extreme closeups. I've always been fascinated by them, but kind of assumed they had specialized equipment such as a microscope camera or something along those lines. However, being cold here and with nothing else to do I thought I'd give it a try. Using a 5d mark iii, 100mm L macro and a couple of tube extensions I came up with this
While I don't have the most interesting pupils compared to what I've seen I was surprised at the amount of detail involved in my eye.
I would also like to note my appreciation for the shots I've seen around the web. I'm sure this might be easier with a model, but this is a very difficult shot to accomplish. With the macro and extensions the slightest movement from the subject and the focus won't be ideal. I'm pretty sure the great shots I've seen have been focus stacked, but the ability to shoot one's own eye and stack multiple photos is out of my reach for now...
